The victory of the allies (1943-1945)

On the 6th June in 1944 (D-Day), allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy. This signaled the bigging of the Second World War. It was the first stage in the liberation of western Europe and a major step  towards the defeat of Nazi Germany. This was known as the D-Day Landing.

Fall of Berlin which was the 2nd of May 1945, was the day that the battle between the Soviet Veterans and Berlin ended. As the name says itself, Berlin lost.

On the 8th of August is 1945, the USA dropped two atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which they had secretly been developing during the war. These bombs made Japan surrender in the same year. They killed over 78,500 people.
The reason for which the USA done this was because they wanted to bring the war to a rapid end and prevent the loss of any more troops.
